Dad, Mom, Vic, Gwen, Nic & Phil
It was great to be able to be with Mom and Dad and to spend some times together with Nic & Phil as wel while we were in Cary.
-
Vic, Gwen, Nic, Phil & Logi
We had some good times with Nic, Phil & Logi. Here we are all together at Mom & Dad's.
-
Mom & Dad Flaming
We had some great times together with Mom & Dad Flaming and thankfully we could enjoy a lot of time outdoors with them, enjoying the spring weather.
-
Picnic on the porch
We had several opportunities for picnics while we were in Cary, this one on Mom & Dad's porch...
-
Picnic in the Park
...this picnic was in the state park at Jordan Lake.
-
grilling supper
We had some really good hamburgers and bratwurst.
-
Phil & Logi
The hamburgers were a bit thick, so we had to grill them a bit longer than anticipated. Phil & Logi waited patiently.
-
Mom & Dad at Rio's
We celebrated an early Mothers Day & Fathers Day by going to the churasceria with Mom & Dad.
-
Rio's 2
The waiters at Rio's hardly gave us a chance to take a breath as they continually served us from the many choice cuts of meat available. I think we all enjoyed the food and certainly the fellowship.
-
Our last evening with Nic
Nic moved to San Francisco the last weekend in April and so we were able to help him pack up and all. We enjoyed a last evening together at an Italian restaurant - forget the name, but the food was excellent.
-
Camping @ Lake Jordan 1
After seeing Nic off at the airport the rest of us went camping at Lake Jordan.
-
Camping @ Lake Jordan 2
It as a very peaceful place and time and Gwen was enjoyed talking on the phone with many of her family.
-
Camping @ Lake Jordan 3
Logi seemed to really enjoy the opportunity to camp out, but wasn't very excited about the ticks that seemed to be around in abundance.
-
Camping @ Lake Jordan 4
Phil was our main fire-man and kept the camp fire burning steadily through the evening and well into the night.
-
Camping @ Lake Jordan 5
Sitting around the camp fire is a great way to spend a relaxing evening in conversation. -
Lunch @ Dad & Mom's
We even did some grilling inside with Dad providing his specialty steak strips, hot off the Foreman grill.
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 1
This is actually in West Virginia on the way from North Carolina to Missouri. We plan to stop here whenever we travel through as it was a very nice experience.
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 2
Gwen cooked us up a tasty supper as well as a solid breakfast on our little camp stove.
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 3
We heard and saw a lot of birds here, including of course a whole flock of ducks, some Canadian geese, wild turkeys and a whole lot more. We woke to the wonderful sound of birds - and nothing else!
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 4
Just some shots around the camp site.
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 5
Looking the other way...
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 6
We enjoyed not having any close neighbors, but there were a few other campers around.
-
Camping @ Beech Fork 7
We both enjoyed the very relaxing environment and shared the chores. The rain let up just long enough for us to pack up the camp site and not have everything sopping wet when we packed up.
